Collaborate With Us

Build strategic alliances, advance ecological research, and support frontline movements across the Bukit Barisan ecosystem.

Research & Academic

SABUMI Foundation champions the integration of rigorous field data with critical theory to influence environmental policy. We invite academic institutions, independent researchers, and think tanks to collaborate on critical climate policy research, participatory spatial mapping, and baseline data collection.

Our focus centers on the intersections of agrarian justice, ecological resilience, and sustainable land-use governance across the Bukit Barisan landscape.

Join us in translating raw field insights into robust, evidence-based advocacy to secure territorial sovereignty for indigenous communities in West Sumatra.

Climate Finance & Grants

The global transition toward a green economy presents both opportunities and risks of “green-grabbing” for indigenous lands. SABUMI Foundation operates as a strategic partner for philanthropic organizations and climate funds seeking to ensure that investments in FOLU (Forest and Other Land Use) are equitable, transparent, and rights-based.

We implement high-impact interventions through our Salingka Landscape Model, ensuring that climate funding directly benefits indigenous and coastal communities while securing vital carbon sinks.

Media & Documentation

In an era of misinformation, amplifying grassroots narratives is an act of resistance. We collaborate with independent environmental journalists, alternative media producers, and documentary filmmakers to highlight the struggles and triumphs of communities in the Bukit Barisan region.

Our team provides on-the-ground support, aerial drone mapping, and field access for those dedicated to storytelling that centers ecological justice. Together, we can expose malpractices in extractive industries and celebrate community-led climate solutions.

Grassroots Advocacy

Systemic change requires collective muscle. We actively seek alliances with legal aid organizations, human rights defenders, and other grassroots movements to build solidarity networks.

Whether it’s community-based campaigns against destructive mining, providing legal advocacy for indigenous farmers, or mobilizing youth across West Sumatra, our movement thrives on shared tactical intelligence and unified action.
